It’s Finally the First of February and we are super excited to shine a light on our second Stargardt’s Star of 2025. 🌟
Meet amazing Alicia, who was diagnosed with Stargardts at the age of 12, and despite some challenges in her school life, her perseverance and hard work enabled her to get a place at University to study Occupational Therapy. With the right support in place and her drive, she was awarded a 2:1 in her degree. She now works as an Occupational Therapist.
Alicia loves music and enjoys going to festivals and travelling abroad.
She also loves makeup and doing her hair.
Alicia says, “If I could give my newly diagnosed self some advice I would say that, life is going to be hard and they are going to be some really humungous obstacles ahead, but you are stronger than you think and you are going to absolutely smash what you do and prove to those who doubted you that you can do it.”
Alicia, your grit and determination is truly admirable and you should be so proud of everything you have accomplished through your hard work and tenacity.
