Stargardt's Connected

Our Stargardt’s Connected Calendar Competition is back by popular demand!

We’re now accepting photo submissions for our 2027 Charity Calendar Competition. This time the theme is Sunrises and Sunsets.

Think colourful skies at dawn or dusk, golden hour landscapes, or the sun setting over the sea or countryside.

Do get snapping this summer and we look forward to seeing your photo entries.

- Send us up to 3 photos on the theme of sunrises and sunsets
- Anyone with Stargardt’s can enter
- The winning photos will feature in our 2027 calendar
- Sumbit entries by Monday 31st August 2026

Calendars will be sold on our website for Autumn with all proceeds to go to Stargardt’s Connected. This helps us to continue to provide vital support to those affected by Stargardt’s as well as help fund Stargardt’s research.

Stargardt's Connected

Registration is now open for our Stargardt’s Connected 2026 Conference! You can now register to attend online or in-person.

Date: Saturday November 21st 10am -5:00pm (GMT- UK time)
Where: 1 America Square, London EC3N 2LB (in person)
This is a hybrid event, and online registrants will be able to access the afternoon talks.

There is no cost to attend. Light refreshments, tea and coffee will be served on arrival from 10.00am onwards.

Our morning session will be split into various drop-in sessions including:

Stargardt’s Connected (Meet some of the team)
Exhibitor stands
Parent’s session
Living well with Stargardt’s
Technology session
Meet the researchers

There will be a parallel Children and young
person session (ages 6-17) running all day with fun activities planned.

Our afternoon session will be a hybrid session with our Industry Partners, Researchers and a Stargardt’s Patient Panel presenting.

Stargardt's Connected

We are so happy to announce July’s Stargardt’s Star, Ruby.

Ruby is a fantastic young member of the Stargardt’s community who consistently displays resilience, strength and positivity in everything she does. We asked Ruby to tell us a little bit about her experiences and here’s what she said:

“Hi, I’m Ruby! I live in a lovely seaside town in the UK called Whitstable. My diagnosis journey started when I was at my local opticians and they noticed deposits on the back of my eye as part of a routine scan. I was referred to a specialist at a local hospital who bluntly told me I was going to go blind which was quite frankly terrifying. Thankfully, the specialists at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London provided more details and hope, and it was then that I was introduced to Stargardt’s disease and I have been adapting ever since! It’s fair to say things are changing as a result of my condition however it’s not stopping me from doing all the hobbies and things I want to do! To anyone impacted by Stargardt’s, I would say, be yourself, take advantage of this reminder that life is precious, and explore the community that I am yet to fully embrace to seek support and work together to make a difference. I am extremely honoured to be Stargardt’s Star this month and proud to be associated with such a great charity!”

Ruby’s strength and resilience was very evident recently when The Davis Family (Ruby, Alan and Rachael) participated in the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Stargardt’s Connected and completed the challenge with a whopping £6153 raised.

Ruby, your positivity is so inspiring and we’re delighted to celebrate you this month as our Stargardt’s Star. Keep shining!
